The One Food that's Best for Anti-aging

Every so often, news breaks that this food or that food makes you young, and everyone starts eating that one food. Big mistake. If you eat only blueberries, thinking they are the secret to youth and long life you'lll miss out on many other nutrients in many other foods. Here’s my take on this: there is no such thing as one magic food to cure aging. Human physiology is complex, and it takes multiple nutrients working together on a molecular level to get to the point in which your health and body begin to defy aging. Following a dietary pattern as a whole is important, not just the individual components. This has been proven in studies of plant-based diets characterized by frequent intake of fruits, vegetables, nuts, beans, whole grains, and olive oil—and shown to slow aging. This eating pattern has been shown to prevent telomere shortening, and the suspected reason is that it's rich in omega fatty acids, vitamins, antioxidants and fiber, and void of regular consumption of less-healthy foods that speed up aging. The bottom line; it’s not the single anti-aging foods you eat, but a sum of its parts that is key.
